A photograph of a news report is provided, depicting a tragic incident in Las Vegas.

The report states that a man was allegedly shot and killed in his apartment, following the death of his girlfriend in a wrong-way car crash.

The incident occurred on February 5 on the 215 highway, when the deceased girlfriend, Quinyana Edwards, was driving in the opposite direction and collided with a pickup truck, resulting in the death of the truck driver, Jose Cutberto Tabares-Acosta.

It was later discovered that Edwards had consumed alcohol prior to the accident. The events took a turn when, on February 6, the man, identified as Martin Loftis, was found shot in his apartment at the Allanza at the Lakes complex.

Witnesses reported hearing gunshots and seeing a black man and woman leave the scene in a white car with California license plates. Loftis had reportedly informed his former partner that Edwards' family members were planning to retrieve her belongings from his apartment, but he insisted on waiting until Edwards' children were present. Investigators were able to link the suspects, Kenisha Rice and Sheldon Johnson, to the crime through witness descriptions and surveillance footage of Rice's vehicle near the apartment complex. The day after Loftis' murder,

Johnson posted a news article about Edwards' death on Facebook, leading investigators to believe he may have taken responsibility for the shooting. Rice and Johnson were arrested in California and are now facing multiple charges, including murder, conspiracy, burglary, and conspiracy to burglary. Rice has been extradited and is currently held at the Clark County Detention Center, while Johnson is being transported back to Las Vegas to face charges..
